New sleep cycle or silliness in the a.m.

12:00pm : I get up with an alarm (unless someone texts me and wakes me up before hand *cough* :P ).
1:00pm : Go into work.
7:00pm : Grab dinner at work and enjoy a few hours of free time.
10:30pm : I am online and working at my apartment with Jan who's in Mumbai.
4:00am : Bed time.

Jan and I are working very closely together on a project and she just spent 3 weeks in NYC. However, with the power of technology now that she's back in Mumbai it's still as if we're at the same office. I'm sitting in my leather chair in my apartment in NYC; she's at her desk in the Mumbai office. We've got Skype w/ video open as well as Gmail chat and there's always e-mails. Tonight we've done all three.

Highlights of our night:
  • Jan gets bottled water at her office (ours were taken away from us and now I have to drink carbonated mineral water out of a bottle) and breakfast until 11am (ours ends at 9:30am).
  • She carries a purse to work (this is funny only if you know her).
  • If I get to go visit her in India in April, she wants to take me to this place where: "They sell leather goods. You know just the regular kinds, whips and stuff."
  • She fed me lunch through Skype. Indian bread stuffed with vegetables! Delicious!
  • She kept mouthing "baby star" at me over Skype. I don't know what that's all about.
And the best was daring Jan to send a "That's what she said" joke to a work mailing list at 3:40am. "+1 for doing it everywhere."

P.S. Added an RSS link for those of you (like me) who rely on such conveniences!

Badge me!

Uriah - I accept your challenge. Granted it's only my personal email, but I'm on my way to deserving the Inbox Zero Nerd Merit Badge. But 71.4% of the time... I don't know if I can rise up to that.

Procrastinating from getting out of bed

Woke up at 7am because I was hungry. Reached into the fridge from my 'bed' to get a snack. How convenient - I knew it was going to pay off! Just woke up again. Really should be getting up to make my 2pm commitment. Looks like I'll be late...

In other news, I saw "Let the right one in" last week. After some deliberation, I decided that I liked it. Definitely worth seeing if you're into that type of movies. Let me know what you think.

My advice: don't let the "right one" in.

Many years and counting

I'm listening to 'Notre Dame de Paris' musical sound track for the thousandth time. Despite it being in French, I think I have most of the words down by heart. I had seen the musical on video in Russia when I was 18 and have wanted to see it live ever since. I should get on that :).

It's beautiful...

It took only a year

Last week I finally saw Wicked, which I've been wanting to see for over a year now. Great production, lots of fun, but the music wasn't that amazing.

Also, I finally watched Persepolis. OK that one I've wanted to see only since the summer, but still that's half a year. I recommend it. :)

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Some people call me 'Olga bear'

Yesterday I was not feeling well at all. I even had to go home to take a nap from 12 - 3pm (mind you I haven't taken a single sick day since I started working). When I came in to work today, my co-workers Vikki and SB made me an Olga bear! :) Note that I also happened to wear my hot pink sweater just like Olga bear. (The reason I look sleepy is because I'd just gotten in to work. It was 11:30.)

Olga bear is at the meeting with me now. Can't let it out of my sight, because everyone wants to eat it.

On a related now, when we shared an apartment with another family in Russia, I was convinced that the dad of that family was a bear and would not go into the kitchen without my mom if he was there.

Would you like some Jude Law with your work?

I would! He came to speak about Peace and to inspire to do something for Peace Day 9/21/09. (He looks different off camera.)
