Lobsterfest!

We held the first semi-annual Lobsterfest yesterday and it was delicious. I've never had a full lobster before that I had to dig out of a shell and needless to say I've never seen lobsters cooked either. Which is why I believe MT when he said that the lobsters they're getting from Chelsea Market would be dead. They weren't! It was a little disconcerting seeing live lobsters go into a pot of boiling... but obviously not disconcerting enough to keep me from naming and then eating them.

Stream of consciousness

It was pouring out yesterday. I had to ask a co-worker to borrow an umbrella so I wouldn't get wet on the way home at 11pm. I stepped in a puddle while crossing the street and my shoe was filled with puddle water.

Before that, I gave Safari a second shot. The first shot I gave Safari, it blew by crashing on me and not letting me restore my previous session. I had to give is a second shot because Firefox 3 is just painfully slow with all the windows I like to have open. Conclusions at the end of day 2 of using Safari:

1. Safari is fast and as long as it doesn't start crashing on me, I can look past some of it's bugs and awkwardness
2. I can no longer open Firefox without it hanging on me - I'm pretty sure Safari has taken over...

Looks like I won't be able to go to India for at least half a year. So I'm making India come to me for a few months. And by "India" I mean Jan. And by "making" I mean my manager asked her if she would come and work from NYC for a while and she agreed. (I swear there was hardly any peer pressure from me... and I swear she's coming so we can work hard on our project and NOT to party and have girls nights.) And by a "few months" I mean 2 or 3.

Meat balls

It had been a while since I cooked... anything. Seamlessweb has replaced my kitchen, since my kitchen is basically in my bed/living room. So I invited myself over to MT & Jess's to cook meatballs for them:


They were good. We had a great Italian dinner: meatballs, pasta, salad, bread with cheese and wine.


Yes, the only reason I posted this is to make you all jealous!

Commuting

We had an "onsite offsite" this week for Google Docs (which means 6 floors up from where we normally sit). Turns out most of the cubicles on that floor are completely unused and we have 7 people in our office! So people have been lobbying for us to move to that floor. My only hesitation is that it would double my commute to work :).
